About Northpoint

Our
Mission

Northpoint Christian Academy, founded in 2005 as Northpoint Homeschool Classes, exists to educate, equip and empower students to pursue academic excellence, understand and embrace Biblical truth, find their God-given purpose, and live out the calling God has placed on their lives.

Our
Culture

Northpoint has been dedicated to providing an Excellent Education for families who are seeking an alternative to traditional school. We believe a Passionate Partnership between parents, students, and staff puts parents back in their God-given responsibility to be the primary educators of their children. Now more than ever, Northpoint feels called to provide opportunities for Intentional Discipleship for teachers, staff, and students to nurture and guide others into a closer relationship with Christ. We value a Teachable Culture where learning, growth, and development are encouraged, valued, and practiced by all members in the hope that we will all sharpen each other to become more like Christ.

What Sets Us Apart

Rather than mainstream all students into the same educational track, Northpoint offers a variety of core classes and electives so students can choose a schedule that fits best for their interests and passions.

Academic Excellence

Biblically-Based

At Northpoint students engage with Scripture through Bible lessons in K–6th and weekly Equip chapels with discussions in 7th–12th, all designed to build a strong Biblical worldview.

No State Funding

Northpoint remains free to teach traditional academics, partner with parents through transparent communication and stand firm to the Biblical principles on which we were founded.

Smaller Class Sizes

The smaller class sizes at Northpoint allow teachers to give each student more personalized attention, helping them grow academically and spiritually.

Connection with Like-Minded Families

Northpoint takes education a step further by offering a strong, Christian community of like-minded believers who connect through activities, field trips, camps, retreats and more.

Flexibility

Northpoint’s hybrid model offers families the flexibility of 3 days on campus and 2 days learning at home, creating more time for faith, family, and personalized learning.

Our
Story

In 2004, Northpoint Christian Academy was founded by Kathy Badger, who desired to find an educational model that balanced the freedom and flexibility of homeschooling with the structure and education of private school. Motivated by her desire to provide a Christ-centered education, Kathy pioneered a new approach to Christian learning that would soon benefit other families as well.

By 2005, Northpoint opened its doors to 106 students in grades 7 through 12, launching the academy’s first school year. Over the past 20 years, nearly 500 students have graduated from Northpoint, many of whom have gone on to become leaders in their communities. Northpoint has also awarded over 25 scholarships to deserving students, empowering them to continue their educational and spiritual journeys. Today, Northpoint is thriving, with over 300 students enrolled from Preschool through 12th grade.

Kathy’s daughter, Emily Cochran, now serves as Northpoint’s Executive Director. The entire family has poured their hearts and souls into Northpoint over the years, and now Kathy gets to watch her four grandchildren carry on that legacy as students.
