Meet Katherine
Katherine Bruton, M.A., CCC-SLP
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with experience supporting children and families in communication and social-emotional development.
Katherine earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University Bloomington.
Her clinical experience includes:
Early intervention (First Steps)
Developmental preschool
Autism support programs (including high school)
Pediatric outpatient clinics
Adult rehabilitation hospital setting
She has worked with a wide range of ages and needs, from toddlers in early development to adults in rehabilitation, with a strong focus on practical, family-centered support.

Description: Parent questionnaire and/or student observation to determine the next appropriate step (evaluation, consultation, referral, no intervention).

Length: 2-3 hours
Description: Case history review, parent and teacher interview, assessment of specific skill area, direct observation of skills in everyday situations; full report, including findings, therapy recommendations and goals.

Description: Student participates directly with speech therapist in activities that target their specific therapy goals. This may be done in or outside of the classroom.

Description: Student participates directly with speech therapist and 2-4 peers in activities that target their specific goals. May take place in a variety of settings (lunch, recess, other).

Description: The first consultation includes an initial screening for one child. The consultation can be with family and/or teacher(s) to discuss an “indirect” therapy plan. Speech therapist provides strategies and techniques to be implemented at home and/or in the classroom.
